Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving
Tony and I spent thanksgiving at his mom's house and my mom, stepdad and brother were there also. It was very nice, and there was tons of great food, especially the desserts (always my favorite). Then we drove to my uncle's house outside of Hammond. We got to hang out with my dad's side of the family and we drew names for christmas. Can't believe that Christmas is just around the corner and right now I am forcing myself to have some spirit. It is a struggle to decorate the house, luckily for me Tony wants to do some things, which motivates me to do some of the decorating too. We haven't gotten our tree yet, but I think it might be a 3 foot tree on top of a table this year!!!
Black Friday
I had to look up on the internet to see why they call it that. This is what I found:
The day after Thanksgiving is frequently referred to as "Black Friday". One of the major U.S. holiday shopping days, it is the day many U.S. consumers begin their annual Christmas shopping. The day is heavily promoted by retailers both in newspapers and with television commercials. The origin of the term "Black Friday" comes from the shift to profitability many retailers experience during the holiday season. Black Friday was historically when retailers went from being unprofitable, or "in the red," to being profitable, or "in the black".
My mom and I went shopping on friday in Slidell to get all of the sales. We went to a bunch of stores to get a ton of my christmas shopping out of the way. I got a good bit done but I am still at a complete loss as to what to get some people. My mom and I shopped from 5 am to 10:30am, only stopping briefly for breakfast. I came home took a nap, and then drug Tony with me to get the things that were on 2 day sales that could wait until the morning craziness was out of the way. Maybe I am crazy, but I just love fighting the crouds for the deals, that's when it starts to feel like christmas!!!!
