Here is the Proof!!

The picture above is me holding my Turducken (doesn't it look yummy), and in the pot right next to me is my turkey and sausage gumbo. I also made baked macaroni and cheese and carrot souffle. I didn't really like the carrot souffle, it was to sweet, but they said that it was how it was supposed to be. All in all I think I did a good job cooking Christmas dinner. Now the question is what do I do with all of these leftovers. I have 3 containers of gumbo leftover (I started with 5), and so much turducken. We will be eating a lot of leftovers this week, and I guess that I will freeze the rest. I can make a gumbo later with my leftover turducken.

Christmas Parties

These are some pictures from my work christmas party on friday night. The top picture is Sara, me, Liz, and Tegan. The party was at the Salmen-Fritchie House in Slidell. It was really nice and we had a great time.
Saturday night we had a party with our friends. Found out 2 of our friends are pregnant, and one with twins!!! We already knew that another friend was pregnant, so that makes 3!!! It must be something in the water. I think I am going to try to stay away from that water for a little while!!
Sunday was the party for my Dad's family. I like that they have it early, it makes one less place that we have to try to rush to on Christmas Eve.
Christmas Day I am cooking christmas dinner at our house this year (I have for the past 2 years) I am cooking a turducken (haven't figured out how yet), Turkey and Sausage Gumbo, Macaroni and Cheese, Carrot Souffle, and a Caramel Cake(Oh, and don't forget the dinner rolls, those count too!). My mom is cooking the Green Bean Casserole and Potato Salad. I am excited (I think I can, I think I can, I think I can!!) I will take pictures to prove that I can cook sometimes!!

Almost Christmas!!

I have 4 days to go. Yesterday, I officially purchased my last christmas present (I think). I have most of them wrapped and placed nicely under my tree. Now if I can just remember to bring all of the right gifts to the right places I will be ok, for some reason I have been more scatterbrained than normal this year. I have been buying random people presents and some people I have bought for more than once, I guess that I am just trying to shop so quickly, that I am making myself crazy. It's almost over!!!

Christmas Crunch!!

Ok, so I know its been a while, but we seem to have gotten really busy at work, and when I get home we either have something going on or I just don't feel like touching the computer. Christmas has turned my life into mass chaos! I am trying to get my christmas shopping done in the evenings when we don't have a lot going on, or I just skip my new favorite class at the gym. I guess it will get easier once christmas is over. The rest of my time is spent working on the tile in our bedroom. One day I was picking up laundry and the handle of the dresser came off in my hand, at that point I had enough. Tony and I decided to go and buy a new bedroom set and it is supposed to be delivered the first week in January. We moved our old bedroom set out of the bedroom (which only has concrete flooring right now), and we started learning how to lay ceramic tile ourselves. It wasn't so bad after a phone call begging Mike (my friend Christy's husband who does ceramic tile for a living) for directions. We would have given up if it hadn't been for him. My bed is in the middle of the living room right now at my house, and to make it all better, I am cooking christmas dinner at our house. We are in a mad dash to get the flooring in the bedroom done by christmas, so that we can have it out of the living room when our families come over. I know I shouldn't complain to much because so many people are so much worse off that we are, and I am grateful to have a house to put my ceramic tile in, but I am still a little bit of a scrooge this year, but I am trying my best to get some christmas spirit!! We did put up a small christmas tree. I do have most of my shopping done, but I still have managed not to wrap a thing, notice that there are no presents under that tree yet!!
