Tegan's Birthday Lunch

These are pictures taken yesterday at lunch for Tegan's birthday. From left to right it's Bianca, me, Tegan, Katie, and Amy, these are the girls from work. The picture on the bottom is my oriental grilled chicken salad (from Applebee's). It was really yummy(the food picture is for you Jen). I was surprised, because I have really not been impressed with Applebee's in the past, but now that I have found something I like, I hope that Tony wants to go there more often (we almost never eat there).

Pictures

I am so excited, I just figured out how to get pictures onto my blog without having to have a username and a password view the pictures. I hate the idea of giving out my username and password to people (because I use them for several different things), and I also do not like the idea that for someone to view my pictures, I have to make them sign up for something. My friend Valerie sent out pictures via email to me the other day using Yahoo, and there was a link to the pictures and I didn't have to sign up for anything!!! I decided to try it for putting links to photo albums on here, and it worked! The real reason that I am doing this now, however, is because my friend Bianca asked me if I knew how to do it, and at that time I was only slightly curious about the yahoo pictures idea, but not motivated enough to actually try it. I have to give her some credit for these pictures being here. Just go to the right side of this page and under the title Photo Albums, there is a link that say Wedding. These are a few of the pictures that were given to me taken by Tony's Aunt Lois and Uncle Randy. You may have seen these before, but I promise that there will be more to come.
Tony and I ordered a new camera last thursday from over the internet. It came in today, and I can't wait to use it. It is a Casio EX-Z57. I love it, and am planning on trying it out when we go out for lunch tomorrow for Tegan's (friend and coworker) Birthday. You will here more when I have had more time to play with it!!

Trip to Grandparents House

Yesterday, Tony and I went to my grandparents house along with my two female cousins and their husbands. None of us have kids yet, so my grandmother thought that it would be fun to get us all together. The picture to the left is 2 or 3 years old, but from left to right it is Me, Melissa, Big Daddy, and Michelle. I would have posted a picture from yesterday, but I forgot the camera!! What is it about grandmothers, that everytime you go over to there house, there is tons of food and it is all good. I ate so much and then my cousin's made dessert and that was delicious also, and of course I had to try everything. But, I did eat better today and I managed to make myself go to the gym, so I guess that it should even out (at least that's what I am going to tell myself!). Anyway, we all just hung out and told old stories and some new ones and had a blast!! I just wish that we got the opportunity to get together more often.

Saturday Night

Last night we went to a party for a 25th aniversary for someone on Tony's dad's side of the family. Tony and I have been together for 3 1/2 years, and I have never seen most of these people!!! So Tony and I sat there by his dad and aunt, and some of the great aunts and uncles, who I have met before. After quizing him as to who people are, I learned that even he doesn't know who all of them are. So, I met a lot of people most of which I will probably forget their names, except for one cousin that has the same name as me (that will probably be the one name that I remember). They had lots of good food and I am sure that I ate more than I should have, but you have to try everything, afterall I would hate to hurt someone's feelings because I didn't eat what they made (do you like how I rationalize that?). I didn't have dessert so that makes it O.K. The rest of my night was spent watching Saturday Night Live until I fell asleep!! What an exciting life I live!

It Really Works!!!!!!!!!!

The repairman called me at 5:15 this afternoon to tell me that he would be at my house in about 30 minutes. I was slightly aggravated because they said that they were going to be here at 5 p.m. and we have plans tonight. What am I supposed to do spend my whole friday evening waiting for these jokers to show up at my house, I don't think so!!! Well, he did show up exactly 30 minutes later at 5:45 with the new circuit board in his hand (I know that it was a new one because it was still in the package when he walked through the door). In a matter of about 5 minutes he had completely changed it out. I turned on the breaker and miraculously the oven came on!! He put the back panel back on my stove and was on his way!! It was so simple for this guy to fix yet it took so long. Well it ended up being fixed before Tony even got home from work, so it really didn't make us any later than we would have been already!!! Well I guess that I am happy for now.

Stove Drama

Stove Update. So today I called the repair company at around 2 p.m. and told the lady that answered the phone that I hadn't heard from her repair guy yet. She sounded very surprised by that. She told me to call her back in 5 minutes so that she could call him and see what was going on. I called her back to find out that somehow my repair didn't make it into his list of calls for the day. She apologized to me and told me that he could come out at 5 p.m. tomorrow (friday). I told her that I had things to do that night and she assured me that it wouldn't take very long, so I agreed. Tony and I agreed that if it doesn't get fixed this time on Saturday we are going to call someone in to help us bring the stove back to the Kirschman's store tomorrow for a full refund. I just don't want it anymore. At this point I am more that willing to spend more on a stove somewhere else just so that we don't have to deal with kirschman's anymore. I will continue to keep you posted on my stove drama!!

Never Shop at Kirschman's

I will never shop at Kirschmans again as long as I live!!! Ok, let me start at the beginning, Tony and I purchased a stove and dishwasher from Kirschman's. They were both delivered to us exactly 2 weeks ago. The electronic component of my brand new stove didn't work at all. I could turn on the oven light and work all of the burners, but anything that was controlled by that electronic panel (like the oven for instance) did not work at all. I immediately called the Kirschman's store that I purchased the stove from to be told, "I am sorry ma'am, but that is a warranty issue." They gave me some phone numbers of 2 repair places that they said could help me. At this point I wasn't really happy, but I called the repair places anyway. One of the 2 places doesn't service Slidell, so they couldn't help me. The other place only has one guy that comes to Slidell on Tuesdays and Thursdays. They said that they could come out the next day (which was thursday, our stove was delivered on a wednesday). I asked the lady on the phone if they could just call me at work and give me 30 minutes notice so that I wouldn't have to miss an entire day of work. So Thursday rolls around and I don't hear from the repair place at all. Around 3 p.m. I decide to give them a call and see what is going on. I was told that since it was raining the repair guy was not going to be able to make it to my house, the next time he would be able to come out was tuesday. (This is completely rediculous because the stove is in my kitchen.) I come home on thursday to a message on my answering machine saying that the repair guy was trying to get in touch with me to come out to the house (the call came in at around 11 a.m.). He never called me at work to come and meet him. At this point Tony and I are both fuming!! We make a couple of phone calls to Kirschman's to tell them about the problems that we are having. The girl that answers the phone tells me that there is nothing that they can do for me since the store doesn't actually employ the repairmen. I told her that I wanted them to come and pick up my new broken stove and bring me a new one. I was told that they couldn't exchange it for the same thing, and if I returned the stove there would be a 25% restocking fee whether I exchanged or got a refund. We both tried to talk to a manager but they wouldn't put either of us through to the manager. So we decided to wait until tuesday and see what the repairman had to say. Since he failed to call me at work the first time I decided to stay home and wait this time for him. He showed up at 1 p.m. and was gone before 1:05 p.m. (they also called me at work this time, so I missed a day at work for nothing!!). They took the back off of my stove and told me that I needed a new circuit board. My dad does a little electrical work and he looked at it the day before and told me the same thing, but there is no way I would have believed this guy if I hadn't heard it from my dad first (after all he was there for about 3 minutes). He told me that they would order me a new one and call me when it came in. OK, now at this point I must have had smoke coming out of my ears. I immediately called Kirschman's again and insisted on speaking to the manager. Two hours later she called me back. I insisted on a new stove, so she called the district office and then called me back. She then told me, "We don't have any of that stove in stock right now, so the best that we can do is call the repairman and have him come and take the circuit board out of our floor model and install that in your stove and we will wait for the new one to come in." I was so frustrated but I figured that this was the best I was going to get so I regretfully accepted. The next day (Wednesday, 1 week after delivery), the repairman called and told me that he could get the circuit board out of the stove at Kirschman's on thursday and install it in my stove that day. I had been thinking about this though, and I decided that I would rather wait for the new circuit board to come in because how would I know if something happened to the on at the store and that might be why they are using that one as a floor model!! The repairman told me that he would be able to come out tuesday and install the new one if I wanted to wait for it. Now tuesday comes and goes without a phone call from the repairman. This morning (Wednesday, 2 weeks after delivery), I called the main office for the repair place, and was told that the part for my stove hadn't come in yet and she had no idea when it would be in, but it would probably be in this week. So frustrating!!!!!!!!!! I was beginning to think that this stove was just going to become a permanent useless decoration in my kitchen. (Thank goodness that we still had our old stove to use all of this time.) I arrived home from work today to find a message on the answering machine saying that the part to fix my stove came in today, and the repairman could come out tomorrow and install my new circuit board. Might I be able to cook on my 2 week old brand new stove tomorrow finally? I will have to keep you posted.

Ok, I know, I got married 3 months ago, and anyone that might be reading this has certainly seen this picture because I have it everywhere. I really like this picture of us except for the top of Tony's head is cut off, but we don't have a lot of good pictures of us together (we do now, tons of wedding pics).
Tonight we went out to eat at Cracker Barrel. Tony's boss took all of the people that work there and families to dinner tonight. I thought that was very nice of them, and hey I got a free meal and didn't have to cook dinner!! I had grilled lemon pepper trout that was really yummy! I was going to spend the rest of my night watching television with my hubby, but right now he is watching Overhaulin' (a car show for those of you who don't know), so I am stalling a bit. It really isn't a bad show, it's just that sometimes I could live without the car shows. I really can't complain much though because I love all CSI and Law and Order, and all of the shows like them. I manage to watch one almost everynight, and 90% of the time Tony watches with me, so I watch the car shows most of the time!

The reason I created this blog

Ok, so here goes nothing!! A few of my friends have started blogs recently, and all I really want to do is just be able to post a comment every now and then, but it seems that you have to have a blog of your own to be able to do that. I don't completely understand why they do things this way, after all, they aren't making any money off of me. I am also not sure I like the idea of posting my life on the internet, but after thinking about it I came to the conclusion that no one is really all that interested in my life anyway. Maybe this won't be that big of a deal after all! I am going to use this as my "Dear Diary" and see how I like it. (Jennifer you win, I have finally started my own!)
