36 week Appointment Update

Doctor's Appointment
I have gained yet another 3 pounds, but oh, well I can't worry about that right now! I had my first pelvic exam yesterday as well (slightly unpleasant, but I am sure that this is only the beginning). I am dialated 1 cm and 70% effaced. My doctor thought that was an excellent first exam, especially for a first baby. My doctor says that this means that I will probably deliver by my due date. I hope that she is right because I really don't want to go past my due date!!
Lamaze Class
Yesterday we also had our second lamaze class. I am really enjoying the class, and learning a lot, but I did come to the conclusion last night that sometimes ignorance really is bliss. The teacher pulled out a model of a pelvis and described how the baby's head fit through there, and the whole time I was thinking 'man, I really could have lived the rest of my life without knowing that'. Now I can't get the image out of my head! I have committed myself to go as far as I can on my own. When and if I need drugs, I will ask for them.

34 Week Appointment Update

My doctor's appointment went well yesterday. I only gained 1 pound in 2 weeks (I don't know how I did it, but I am excited). I did however eat tons of halloween candy last night. The doctor said that if I started having contractions or anything now, that they would try to stop labor, but if I did have the baby now, she would be fine, she just wouldn't be able to come home with us right away, and after 36 weeks they won't try to stop labor, and she said at 36 weeks the baby would be big enough to come home. Not that I am real concerned about her coming early, it is just comforting to know that if something did happen that everything would be ok. I am not prepared for her to come early, I still have so much to do before she gets here!! We had a very quick ultrasound yesterday, just to make sure that she is head down. She is, and all we got to see was her head, and that is one big head. The doctor said that it was normal size, it just seems like at my last ultrasound the whole baby fit on the screen, and yesterday it was just the head! Overall it was a good visit, and I go back in 2 weeks.
